STRIKING IT RICH: Piyush Swain with Amitabh Bachchan on the sets of KBC-2. The episode will be telecast on Friday. This Friday, at 9 p.m., when the baritone of Amitabh Bachchan rings across living rooms in the twin cities from the sets of Kaun Banega Crorepati-2 on Star Plus, Hyderabadis will have one more reason to stay glued to their television sets.
The reason answers to the name Piyush Swain, an engineer who is a native of Rourkela in Orissa, born in Uttar Pradesh, brought up in Assam, educated in Orissa and Kerala and having worked in Bangalore, Delhi and Hyderabad.
Piyush , according to Star Plus, after playing for the big money of Rs. 2 crore, could be the highest winner so far. But how much the Associate Consultant with Infosys Technology Ltd at has won is a closely guarded secret. Friday episode at 9 p.m. will reveal his fortune
That is, till Friday when the show goes on air. A rightly excited Piyush, however, is all calm and reason when talking about his performance. "To put up a good performance on KBC, you need not be a bookworm.
You just have to use your common sense and take a logical approach. In fact, there were many questions to which I did not know the answers. I just used logic and the elimination technique. There was no extensive research either," he says.
For one who has been hooked on to KBC right from its inception, with a little bit of disappointment that he could not make it to the hot seat earlier, meeting the Big B was the biggest part of the entire dream, of course, leaving apart that undisclosed sum.
"It was a great experience. Mr. Bachchan is a thorough gentleman and was very encouraging. In fact, the entire show is exceptional as regards hospitality.
The organisation is perfect to the T," gushes Piyush, who lives with his wife Prativa in Kondapur
